What to Expect

 

You are unique and your why, how, and what you eat are going to be different than the next person’s.  Whether you are looking to lose weight, improve your cholesterol or blood pressure, lower your blood sugar, or increase your energy, here is some of what to expect from our visits:

  • You and I will work together as a TEAM to create an individualized action plan that includes tailored nutrition interventions that will help you reach your goals. 

  • You will learn how to fit in your favorite higher calorie foods without sabotaging your health goals.

  • You will learn to recognize how various foods affect your mood, energy, and hunger levels.

  • You will learn research proven strategies and techniques that have been shown to help people succeed at long-term behavior change. 

  • You will walk out of each session with a clearly defined action plan.

 

What NOT to Expect
  • You will NOT be judged.

  • You will NOT be given a list of “good” and “bad” foods.

  • You will NOT be given a generic meal plan.

  • You will NOT be given a rigid diet to follow.

  • You will NOT be told to stop eating your favorite foods.

  • You will NOT be forced to try tofu (unless you want to, I happen to love it!)

How Often Will We Meet?

​

Generally, what works best for patients is for us to meet every 1-2 weeks initially, which will help you get off to a strong start, however we will work at a pace that is most comfortable for you.  At the end of each session, you will leave with a summary of clear, achievable goals for you to work on in between sessions, which will help us track your progress.
